These days modern day music is far from anything original sad to say. I hardly pay attention to mainstream musicians or bands. If I do they definitely need to have something unique about them. Specifically, I usually target a musician’s sound such as the compilation of instrumentals, vocals, etc.
If I am really interested I’ll look into their personality, history and how they came into profession of working in the music industry. That’s exactly what I did with Kanye West.
Except, unlike other artists, I despised Kanye at first because when he first came into the hip-hop scene as a full time rapper in 2003, I thought this man is cocky beyond all belief and he has not done anything successful, what’s wrong with this picture?
I was not too enthusiastic about his first single, “Through the Wire” off his debut album The College Dropout. Until I heard “All Falls Down” then I brought the album and I was so moved. At the time it went perfectly with my life. Unfortunately, I did not favor the following album Late Registration as much, but I definitely loved his later albums Graduation and 808s & Heartbreak.
Until the recent controversy, I thought finally, I found a musician, rapper and singer with the biggest ego and have everything to back it up. I’ll let you in a little secret I kind of aspire to be like that in a way. I mean I like having someone who came from struggles and ended up being successful.
Specifically what I like about this Kanye’s story is that it’s not the cliché rapper story of getting shot, drug dealing and calling women hoes constantly. It was refreshing to hear something new and different.
All I can ask of Mr. West is, please do whatever you can to pull yourself together. You were cocky before you rudely interrupted Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech we all knew this, but it was taken too far.
You were featured in the opening verse of North America South America (NASA’s) “Gifted” and stated, “I’m known for running my mouth, I will not be held accountable for what comes out.” Well, you need to be after what you did to Taylor Swift because your lack of respect towards others shows that you don’t even care about anyone.
I stood by you when you released 808s & Heartbreak. I supported you as an artist before and I still do. For the first time in six years I am asking you to do this, please, please, tone done your arrogance.
At this point in time you do not have anything to back up your reckless antics. As you have seen from you’re actions it’s not very becoming and it puts you in a bad place. So yes it was “a love knocked down” it hurts to see one of my heroes self – destruct. Hopefully things get better for you.
