Some yellow cabs will start offering group rides while making predetermined pick-up spots and only certain drop-off locations starting Feb. 26.

In Midtown Manhattan, group rides will be available between the hours of 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. with the rate being significantly less than what a single rider would pay.
As of right now, there are only three pick-up spots.

One of them is located at West 57th Street and 8th Avenue that will allow drop-offs on Park Avenue between 42nd Street and 57th Street.

Another pick-up spot will be located at  West 72nd Street and Columbus Avenue with drop-offs to be on Park Avenue anywhere between 42nd Street and 72nd Street.

The other pick-up location will be East 72nd Street and 3rd Avenue with the drop-off locations also on Park Avenue between 42nd Street and 72nd Street.

In order to get the cheaper fare, there must be at least two or more people in the cab.
The cost is $3 for the first passenger and $4 for each additional passenger.

Extra passengers can also be picked up along the way from any one of the pick-up locations.

Passengers are still able to pay with cash or credit cards and can even pay their fare when the cab is in motion taking them to their drop-off location.
