The Web site thetakeaway.org is giving students the opportunity to take part in New Voices, which "is an election project from The Takeaway that provides a forum for the issues and thoughts of students and young voters across the country," according to vote2008.

Dyson Fellows Society seeks members

Dyson Society of Fellows weekend retreat will be held in Warwick, New York Nov. 21-23. The retreat offers members of Dyson College of Arts and Sciences the opportunity to attend lectures in the areas of arts and sciences, and to network with patrons of similar studies.

New Latin American studies major introduced due to interest

In addition to the Latin American Studies minor, a Latin American major is being implemented. The decision was made in 2006 by Dr. Daniel Greenberg, the Latin American Program Director, along with Co-Director Dr. Antonia Garcia Rodriguez. They deciding to create the major due to an overwhelming response from students expressing interest in a Latin American studies major.

Students take political advocacy to Chinatown

The University's Project Pericles and Dyson Center for Community Outreach rose to the Periclesian challenge with Democracy in Action (DIA) on Oct. 7. The students gathered to investigate and discuss democracy as and citizenship. Topics discussed included global warming, nuclear proliferation and international politics.

Hannah Upp update, behavior questioned

Hannah Upp, the University's 23-year-old graduate student and high school teacher, was found weeks ago. She who was reported missing by her friends and family over Labor Day weekend and was rescued by Staten Island ferry workers who found her water of New York's Upper Bay.

Talks continue between adjuncts and University

Topics discussed include wages, health benefits and job security

The Sept. 15 Pace Adjunct Advocate, the newsletter for the Union of Adjunct Faculty at Pace (UAFP), was given out near the entrance to One Pace Plaza last week in an attempt to foster awareness regarding the requests of the Union. The Union is currently in the midst of negotiations with University Administration in order to attain contractual agreements; the last session that aimed to obtain a resolution between the two parties occurred Sept 8.
