It is difficult to believe that if one truly has the ability to see into the future they would place their services in the classifieds section of The Village Voice, join the Psychic Friends Network, or even market their omniscient services online. There are so many choices to reach those that desire to know the future.

It is impossible to change what has already been pre-determined. Regardless, something more pressing needs to be examined: Neon. These lights displaying the word, "Psychic" seem to be mandatory.

On to the pricing: $5.00 gets a handwriting analysis, $10.00 gets a palm reading, $20.00 gets a Tarot card reading, and $50.00 gives a whole psychic reading. The limit for a scam should be about $20.00.

At $20.00, the client is able to sit down with Diana and her cup of steaming coffee. She will hand the cards over to the future seeker. They are very beautiful. She will ask the seeker to make two wishes as the cards are shuffled. This request might catch them off guard.

It is so limiting to only pick two in such a short amount of time. The client may feel it is too much pressure. The mind will race over all the things that are so desperately desired, despite the fact that the seeker may not exactly believe that they stumbled across a magical genie on 33rd Street and 2nd Avenue. One must not stop now though.

The mind will scream, "Pick anything already!" As "anything" is tossed out to the mystical realm there will be the secret hope that one will not have buyer's remorse. As it is common knowledge that one should be very careful for what one wishes for.

After this struggle to decide. Ms. Diana will have the audacity to request another decision. She will ask that one wish be picked out of the two that is not as important. The primary will be kept secret as the secondary is revealed.

Now, one must not ask too much for the $20.00. In order to feel that one did not waste their money one must lower their standards. The all-knowing psychic is not required to know the answer. Insane. When one goes to a surgeon to be operated on the patient is not expected to operate on them.

But here in the psychic realm the client solely performs the service that is paid for. The future seeker will tell the psychic all about themselves for the majority of the session. Or there is always the other option—to sit in the uncomfortable silence. The client should keep in mind that in order for the scam to work everyone involved needs to participate.

Those that choose to participate will be told about their personality. This is where the psychic can score some points. If the psychic is a good judge of character and a perceptive individual there might be moments of getting something right. It is very important to keep the scam running smoothly by reassuring the psychic that she is on point. This gives her the fuel to push harder and to feel like she is doing her job. The client needs to continue to answer a series of questions throughout the reading.

Here are some popular ones: What is your name? Do you get depressed? How old are you? Do you have any brothers or sisters? Has anyone died that was really close to you?

Now, the client should be wary of the psychics that claim they "see dead people". This is where the scam can be brought to a whole new level. Well meaning future seekers have been manipulated into much debt by believing that their loved ones are reaching out to them from who knows where. Student loan debt is one thing, but psychic debt should be avoided.

The best way to combat the psychic that chooses the, "I see dead people" routine is to look at her as if she was slightly mad.

This will surely make her change direction. Who knows where she will
take the future seeker from there. The only thing that will definitely occur in the futures of those that visit Ms. Diana are the following: A lighter wallet and a confirmation that one must always stay clear of the neon lights.
