I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell, the movie adaptation of Tucker Max's book of same  name opens in theatres Sept. 25. The book consists of true stories, while the movie only includes some of these stories plus an additional plot line.

For those of us who do not know who Max is, he introduces himself in his book saying, "My name is Tucker Max, and I am an asshole. I get excessively drunk at inappropriate times, disregard social norms, indulge every whim, ignore the consequences of my actions, mock idiots and posers, sleep with more women than is safe or reasonable and just generally act like a raging dickhead. But I do contribute to humanity in one very important way: I share my adventures with the world."

Partying was not the only thing that Max did. He received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and then went to Duke Law School on an academic scholarship. From not buying a single textbook for two years to living in Cancun while still enrolled in law school, Max is without a doubt a clever and witty man.

"I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell" was on the New York Times Bestseller list from 2006 to 2009. The idea of the book and the blog started from e-mails that Max sent to his friends about his escapades. Max explained, "When I was 27 or so, after I graduated law school, all my buddies moved to different cities. So instead of talking about it, I started writing about it. I would write e-mails to my friends. The e-mails were pretty funny and they started forwarding them around. I got to be pretty popular so I put up a Web site."

From skimming these stories, one can see that Max definitely has an eventful history and a lot of advice to give to guys. "Be honest. Don't be a liar. And don't try to pretend you're something you're not," Max said.

Although Max may have a wide range of fans, not all the feedback he has received has been positive. One blogger wrote, "I find it truly appalling that there are people in the world like you. You are a disgusting, vile, repulsive, repugnant, foul creature. Because of you, I don't believe in God anymore. No just God would allow someone like you to exist."

On the other hand, there is also a lot of positive feedback such as, "I'll stay with God as my lord, but you are my savior. I just finished reading your brilliant stories, and I laughed so hard I almost vomited. I want to bring that kind of joy to people. You're an artist of the highest order and a true humanitarian to boot. I'm in shock and awe at how much I want to be you."

Even though Max gets various types of feedback on his blog and book, he still has no problem with women and continues to stick to his womanizing ways. Since becoming famous, however, things have changed slightly. "When you're famous," Max said. "They approach you.”

As for settling down, Max is just not ready yet. "Guys don't stop being who they are because of a woman. A guy just makes a change on his own and then he meets the woman right for him. In a couple of years I will probably be ready for that stage. I am not ready yet."

The New York City premiere of I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell — part of a 31-city tour — definitely showed that no matter how many mistakes Max might have made, people will still come to cheer him on, as the theater completely sold out.  Some fans came with beer to watch the movie, because if one thinks about it, there is really no other way to watch it. As the movie started rolling, people started clapping and yelling with excitement.

The film opens up on Tucker Max (Matt Czuchry) having sexual intercourse with a deaf girl, one of his many conquests. When some technical difficulties occurred during the film, the crowd was not too happy and waited in anticipation for it to start rolling again. Max, in the mean time, came out to help cheer on the crowd who was more than happy to see him.

As for the movie, it is definitely a must-see as it features three friends at a bachelor party. Those who know Max do not need further explanation, but those who don't should be ready to see a lot of drinking, sex and arrests. Max does not play himself in the movie because  — according to him — he is just not a good actor. Czuchry, who fills that role, stars alongside Max's two friends, Drew (Jesse Bradford) and Dan (Geoff Stults).

Drew has just gone through a horrible break-up and is completely disappointed in women, but he still finds his way to happiness when he isn't even looking. Dan on the other hand, is engaged to Kristy (Keri Lynn Pratt), who is a religious girl and sees through everything that Tucker Max does. Kristy questions the loyalty of her fiancé  because in numerous situations, Dan chooses Max over Kristy. And when Kristy brings this up, Dan replies by saying "I am marrying you, aren't I?"

As the three troublemakers go on the bachelor party, a series of events unfold. The trailer for the movie was probably not the best cut, but at the same time it did not give too much away. The movie is a riot. From crazy events to witty remarks, it definitely exceeds the expectations of the trailer.

After the movie was finished, Nils Parker, Keri Lynn Pratt and Tucker Max came out for a question and answer session. One obvious question that was asked was if Pratt slept with Max to which she yelled, "No!"

In regards to how shocked he was when the movie did not play, Max said, "I almost shit my fucking heart out of my ass....What the fuck do I say?"

When a question came up about how to explain Max's exploits to those who don't appreciate the book or film, Max replied, "You cannot talk sense to a fool. When you talk sense to a fool, they call you foolish. Fuck them dude. If I spent any time sweating people who didn't like me I would have time to do bullshit or live my life."

In the Q&A, into which he came with a beer, Max also admitted to sleeping with celebrities and that there is a waiting list to sleep with him. When someone questioned if the stories were real Max said, "Dude how do you make this shit up?" The Q&A also became more interesting as the brother of a girl Max had slept with for a ride to a mall showed up.

For those who are fans of Max, we will be seeing more of him. "As long as I don't get stabbed or die on this fucking tour. The next book is called 'Assholes Finish First,'" says Max. As Max continues to promote his movie, he does admit, "I am not expecting to live after this tour."
