In their third performance at CMJ, London based band Fanfarlo played to a full crowd at the Bowery Ballroom. This show was their official showcase at the festival but they also played at the Brooklyn Vegan party at the Music Hall of Williamsburg and a sneak attack concert earlier on Tuesday.
Franklin, Tenn.'s Paramore, who is currently on tour in support of their new album Brand New Eyes, recently performed in front of a sold-out audience at
Midtown's Hammerstein Ballroom.
Rising swiftly in popularity within the last two years, Paramore showed that their sudden fame is well deserved, as their set was both impressive and awe-inspiring.

The Bowery Poetry Club hosted an array of bands on Oct. 24, the last night of CMJ. Three of the bands that evening, The New Collisions, Nightmare Of You and Lights Resolve, were a few that performed in the CMJ Big Picture Media Showcase.
On Oct. 21 there was a CMJ hip-hop showcases at local Brooklyn venue, Southpaw. The lineup for the night included Jamine Solano, U-Dog, Wiz Khalifa, Grand Puba with Brand Nubians and Spank Rock. In between each set a DJ was always prepared to keep the crowd interested in who was coming up next.
In its 29th successful year, the College Music Journal (CMJ) Festival recently wrapped up its five day marathon in New York City. Taking place at countless venues around the city, CMJ allows for artists — known, unknown and in the process of breaking into the industry — to showcase their talents to media as well as press and fans who flock to the city each year for the festival.
